NEW - McGarrity and Oliva - candidate's petition for Haverford Township School Board Director

This petition was circulated by 2nd Ward Commissioner Mario Oliva. Oliva is the first signature, Jim McGarrity is the second, followed by McGarrity's wife and son. Petition was submitted on the last day to file petitions to get on the 2011 ballot.

At December 2009 Township Meeting, Larry Chrzan provided the above information and called for reform of the Commissioner expense reimbursement system.

Starting in January 2010, when it was now known that Chrzan was scrutinizing expense reports, note the drop-off in expense reimbursement submissions.

Note on Mileage: Mileage logs are submitted for the first time in Sept 2009. For the four reports from Sept to Dec 2009, the submitted "mileage logs" show:

• 4.6 miles driven every day in Sept, 138.7 miles
• 3.9 miles driven every day in Oct, 120.9 miles
• 3.4 miles driven every day in Nov (including Thanksgiving), 102 miles
• 4.0 miles driven every day in Dec (including Christmas Day), 124 miles

In September 2011, there was a McGarrity campaign flyer that was distributed that used a different phone number.

Note on Postage: At an average stamp cost of .42 in 2006-2009, $917.80 is about 2,200 letters - about 2 letters per day every day for 37 months. (Note: newsletter mailings are paid for and mailed by the Township, not part of this postage expense.)

Note on Mileage: No mileage logs or any other documentation is provided for any of the mileage submissions from Dec 2006 to Aug 2009. Also note that almost all of the mileage amounts are either 200, 210, or 220 miles, and all submissions are round number multiples of 5 or 10.
